Staying at Dog-Friendly Palm Mountain Resort & Spa, Palm Springs, CA
Palm Mountain Resort & Spa invited us to stay in one of their newly renovated, dog-friendly rooms.
In recent years, the hotel has made remarkable improvements to both its grounds and accommodations. The latest renovations undoubtedly position Palm Mountain Resort & Spa as one of the pawsome destinations for a stay with your furry companion. Below we are sharing 6 things we loved about our recent stay.
6 Things We Love About Dog-Friendly Palm Mountain Resort
1. Big Dogs Are Allowed
We are thrilled that Palm Mountain Resort & Spa welcomes big dogs like our two golden retrievers, and including those over 50 pounds. Plus, they allow up to two dogs per guest room. Woofs to these pet-friendly policies—absolutely pawfect for those of us who love traveling with their dogs and staying in hotels.
2. Minimalist Room Decor Plus No Carpet

As soon as we entered our room, we felt a welcoming and positive vibe. The space was open and bright, with a tiled entryway and wood flooring throughout—absolutely pawsome for our paws and fur!
The hotel also surprised our dogs with thoughtful gift bags that included a small towel, waste disposal bags, treats, and some Palm Mountain Resort promotional goodies.
The room featured simple mid-century modern furnishings and a soothing color palette inspired by the natural beauty of Palm Springs.
Our golden retrievers felt completely comfortable and relaxed in the room, which was so important—it allowed us to unwind and enjoy our stay as well
3. Enclosed Patio & Awesome View
Having a patio was a wonderful bonus feature of the room. Every room in the hotel comes with a patio overlooking either the courtyard garden or the pool.
Our view of the pool was far from bothersome—in fact, it was delightful for both KB and Kenzo! They even found the patio chairs comfortable to sit on and enjoy the scenery.
4. Large Dog Relief Area
Most of the dog-friendly rooms are conveniently located on the first floor, making potty breaks easily accessible—just pawfect for us.
The spacious dog relief area was only a short walk from our room. With its open grassy space, we enjoyed our potty breaks and plenty of sniffing adventures.
5. Walkable
The hotel provides free parking for all its guests, which is a great perk. Also, thanks to the hotel’s central location, we didn’t need to drive at all. Instead, we enjoyed walking around and exploring downtown Palm Springs.
The Palm Springs Art Museum and the iconic 26-foot-tall Forever Marilyn Monroe statue are just steps away from Palm Mountain Resort, offering plenty of fun photo opportunities. Adjacent to the statue is a small park, perfect for a relaxing stroll.
Many of the shops in downtown Palm Springs welcome dogs, and numerous restaurants feature patios that are dog-friendly—a huge plus for us.
Another highlight of walking through downtown was discovering the Palm Springs Walk of Stars. This “walk of fame” features Golden Palm Stars embedded in the sidewalks, honoring notable individuals who have lived in the greater Palm Springs area. It added a unique and fun touch to our stroll.
6. Dog Staff MAX

Lastly, What makes the experience even more special? The hotel has a dog staff member named MAX, and we were so happy to meet him during our check-in.
